A Path to Self-Sustainability: Life Skills School & Shop

At Yireh Pour Trust Foundation, our mission is not only to provide immediate help—but to empower long-term, self-sustaining change. As we look to 2026, we are excited to launch a major project that has the potential to transform Kitamaduni’s future: the establishment of a Tailoring School and Shop.

While several ideas were discussed by our board, with the guidance and insight of Charles, we chose to support a project that will empower individuals with practical skills while also generating sustainable income. This tailoring center will train teen mothers and young adults in sewing and stitching, focusing specifically on the production of school uniforms for local schools—and potentially for businesses and organizations that require uniforms.

This initiative holds a powerful promise. It will:

  • Equip young mothers and young adults with a valuable, income-generating skill

  • Provide jobs and restore dignity to those who have faced hardship

  • Create a revenue stream to help support Kitamaduni’s ongoing educational and shelter programs

Our dream is to see Kitamaduni move toward self-sufficiency, where empowered hands not only care for themselves but uplift the entire community. With your support, this dream can become a reality—a place where lives are changed not just by charity, but by opportunity.

Watch as young children and teens at Kitamaduni prepare straw for basket weaving—learning valuable skills that foster creativity, community, and future opportunities.
