Building Renovations:

Restoring Dignity and Creating a Safe Space

February 2024

After supporting the children’s graduation and Christmas celebration, the next priority was clear—renovating the broken-down buildings that served as both classrooms during the day and sleeping quarters at night. The floors were muddy, the walls crumbling, and the overall environment was unsafe and unhygienic for learning or resting.

By the end of February 2024, I was blessed to send Kitamaduni the funds needed to renovate two critical buildings. These structures were transformed from deteriorating shelters into clean, safe, and functional spaces. The classrooms now have cemented floors and proper walls, offering the children a sense of dignity and comfort they had never known.

The joy on the children’s faces when they walked into their freshly renovated classrooms was beyond words. Their smiles were radiant, their eyes filled with wonder and gratitude. Sitting in a clean, solid classroom—free from mud and dust—was more than a physical change; it was a symbol of hope and a brighter future.

Before and after renovation photos are included below to show the remarkable transformation.
